Review on 2014 & by the way Merry Christmas & a happy New Year ♥

Inspired by my lovely friend Alina I decided to write a review about 2014. I will also write in english because I want my australian friends to understand it and I am really sorry if some german people can't understand everything, the next post will be in german again :*

2014 started with lovely ski holidays with my dads side of the family and a couple of icy slopes because it was bit too warm. But it was a really nice time and I enjoyed being with my family especially because I knew i wouldn't be with them the next time and I wouldn't be skiing for the next 2 years.

After that, school started again but all year 10 were really lucky because we set out for Vallendar in februrary and stayed there for 1 week. We expected a boring time but in the end we all were surprised how nice it actually was and how much better we knew each other afterwards. Even though we had to fight for a  powerpoint every night and some activities seemed a bit "different" :D.

Chrissy, Kim, Lissy & Lena. ♥
Four of my closest friends in year ten even though a few are missing :)

This picture probably shows the most how much fun we had :D
Poor Daniel at the bottom :D ♥

We had a lot of fun but we also started realising that it was our last half a year,
in a class, all together which made us become emotional and a bit sad. ♥

While we were in Vallendar,Alina got her Scholarship for an exchange year in the US and we heard a loud and happy screaming on the corridor, everyone ran out of their rooms and there was Alina, jumping around, laughing at the same time and she told us her mum rang her and that she got the scholarship. I was so happy for her and glad to see her so happy and it remembered me of how I reacted when I got my place for going to  Australia.

In march Karneval started and I had the most amazing time with my dance group. We had heaps of great performances and lots of fun. It was an amazing time and I realised how lucky I am to be a part of such a great group ♥

April started and during easter holidays I was in berlin at my daddys and saw all my relatives for the last time before going to Australia and it was really hard, but I enjoeyed the time and we had good fun. I also met up with another exchange student from Berlin, Lena,  who is now in Australia as well and a good friend of me :)
And I finally got my Hostfamily !!!!!!

The day of my departure.

Monday 7th of July, it was time for me to get into the car to drive to the airport with my little brother, my best friend and my dad.
My mum and her boyfriend were in a separate car :)
I was not even sad the whole trip to the airport and even at the airport I was more excited than anything else. It was crazy :D I didn't cried until I went passed the boarding barrier but than I turned around and saw my mum and Julia crying so I started crying as well :(

And than my adventure started ♥

The flight was really exciting and everyone of us was curious and scared at the same time. After 27 hours we landed in Sydney and had a stressful but also exciting day. We saw the Opera House, the Harbourbridge and a bit of the botanic garden, afterwards we got to settle down in a little hostel outside of Sydney in the bush. After 3 days of preparation and co we were finally ready to head of to see our hostfamily. In the early evening I finally landed in Adelaide.

Hostel.

Well, 2 days after I arrived in Adelaide we went up to Whyalla & Roxby to visit my hostdads mother and my hostbrother and his wife. It was an amazing week and my exchange year started so good. When we came back school finally started and I met the most amazing people even it took me about 1 1/2 weeks to find them and i was followed by weird looks of strangers for this time. I am so glad that I made those friends and they alreadys proved  that they are true ones. ♥
In September Formal was topic number one and the Adelaide Show was second on the list.
I had an amazing formal, with an amazing dress,an amazing limousine, amazing people and an amazing ambiente, it was one of the best nights of my life.
After this night full of dancing, photos and fun I had a great day at the Adelaide show with amazing people. ♥

But than my exchange year came to a point where I realised it is not always fun to be away from home and how much easier living with people who know you is, than living with complete strangers.

I had some tough days at home and after all I had to leave hostfamily. My Local Coordinator picked me up at the 11th of september and I had to stay at hers for a couple of days or weeks until they found someone who would take me.
During this time we went on bushwalking camp with the year 12s and I got to know Jesse a bit better and he and his friends probably safed my whole trip because I nearly drove crazy. :D
Even i had to face an uncertain future after that I had a great time before, while and after camp because I had great support from Adele, Cynthia, Jesse, John & Tayla.
When I came back my Local Coordinator had a great News for me. She asked me if I want to stay with her and her family and Sara, a swedish exchangestudent, and that I could stay at my school if i would want to.
I am not going to lie, that was one of the best days of my life !

After I was finally reassured that I can stay at MTBH and could stay with this wonderful family my year could have just become better. I had wonderful weeks, we went camping in Bura, I was on Surf Camp, we went to Victoria, Maddie started school at MTBH and became a part of our group and I finished year 11 with and Award of excellence in English studies and 3 A's on my report.

While all this happened me and Jesse became closer and finally became girl- and boyfriend. People call us crazy and yes probably we are crazy but I'm proud to be so crazy because I know that I have that characteristic from my mum. Haha :D ♥ And I can't imagine to not have him in my life anymore :)

So in late november/beginning of december summer holidays started and I met up with friends, went to the city, watched an adelaide united game, baked christmas bisquits, had a secret santa party and than finally christmas arrived. It was a nice christmas even it was different to the christmas's I had before. I had a nice christmas Lunch with Jesses Family, and on christmasday we had Family over. On the 28th we celebrated Maddies Birthday and went to the cinemas and yes, 2014 was quickly over.
I had a wonderful New years eve down at Victir Harbor at Jesse's Grandparents with a lot people and I couldn't ask for a better end of 2014.

Because we always look pretty in pictures :D ♥

Firework in Victor. Great ending ♥
When I look back on 2014 I realise how lucky I am. I have so many great friends at home who still support me as much as they can even though I'm away for 6 months by now. I have my incredible and lovely parents who back me up in any situation and try to understand me in any mood possible. My cute little brother who sometimes annoys me but actually means the world to me and of course the rest of my family and Julia.♥

But I don't just have that. Over here in Australia I now have a second family, which cares about me, which likes to see me happy and tries to help me and cheers me up when I feel bad or a bit homesick. I found people here who are as crazy as I am and who are there for me at anytime. I created a whole new life on the other side of the world and I am so happy that I made this step and decided to go away. I am so glad I met all these people and I hope they will stay in my life even when I go back to Germany in April and I hope I will see all of them again.

A big thanks to Graeme & Annette Hancock & the Hancock family for being my lovely hostfamily, to my hostsister Sara for being there when I need someone to talk to, to Adele, Tayla, Cynthia, John & Maddie for being my friends from the very first beginning for never leaving me alone, for laughing about my mistakes and for cheering me up at any time of the day, to my new local coordinator Coralie, to all the nice people i met in the last couple of months , of cours to Jesse who is always there for me and accepts me, he stayed by my side during my hard time here even though he didn't had to and always tried to cheer me up and showed me the positive side of everything. And of course to jesse's  family because they welcomed me so lovely and make me feel like a part of the family. :)

“You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place.”

- Miriam Adeney

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seemand smarter than you think.

- Christopher Robin

This year I learned to face things by myself, to solve conflicts by myself and that I can do anything , if I really want to, but the most important thing I learned is that we sometimes just need to move on, we can't please everyone and we should not please everyone and that we can't let our past steel our future.
We get along with some people and with some people we don't.
That's life, life is not about pleasing everyone, it's about pleasing yourself and make yourself happy and true friends will be happy as long as you are happy and they will stuck by your side even though they think what you just did was stupid.
I wish you all a great 2015 and that all your wishes will come true, fight for what you want. 2015 is a new book with 365 blank pages, write your own story and a good one please. ♥
